The Grumpyre is the only single-element ethereal to sing.In the info menu, the Grumpyre's eyebrows never emerge, similarly to its pre-1.3.1 appearance.Even though there are holes in the Grumpyre's wings, it still flies without any problem.It is possibly the monster heard in the log in screen.BBB eventually realized the confusion, and changed the Yool's breeding combination on September 13th, 2014, when the Time of the Season event was started on Anniversary Month. One of the Breeding Combinations ( Thumpies and Deedge) was also the combination for the Yool.When they are muted, they also rest on the ground.The Grumpyre continues to emit black smoke even when it sleeps (i.e.The Grumpyre, like any other Ethereal monster, can only be placed in the Breeding Structure on Ethereal Island.Grumpyre's name may be a portmanteau between Grumpy and Vampire, due to the ambiguous facial expressions that the monster makes and to its bat-like traits.To see all possible names for Grumpyre, see Monster Names. According to statistics, doing 70 attempts gives you a 50% chance of successfully breeding at least one Grumpyre and doing 690 attempts gives you a 99.9% chance of successfully breeding at least one Grumpyre. It is uncertain whether some combinations work better than others. There is roughly a 1% chance of breeding this successfully. The Grumpyre can be bred using a combination of a Deedge and one three-element monster. In Ethereal Island, it sings "boom-shika-La, boom-shika-la-la-la-la boom-shika-la, boom-shika-la-la, boom-shika-la, boom-shika-la-la-la-la Boom-shika-la, Boom-shika-la-la" It does this repeatedly for its part in the Cold Island song. The Grumpyre sings "boom-Shicka-la-Shicka, boom-Shicka-la-Shika" in a harsh whispering voice. Note that Grumpyre has a slightly lower rate than Reebro, Jeeode, and Humbug. Like all single-element Ethereals, Grumpyre has excellent shard production, bested only by other single-element Rare and Epic Monsters. You can then breed it with any other Monster to get more. Once teleported to Ethereal Island, Grumpyre takes 10 hours to incubate. Although useful for beginners, it is recommended to get other Monsters with higher coin production. Grumpyre has a decent coin production on Cold Island and is comparable to Deedge. By default, its breeding time is 1 day and 12 hours long. It is best obtained by breeding Deedge and a triple-element Monster. Grumpyre was added on August 19th, 2013 during Version 1.1.7. It is first available on Cold Island and can be teleported to Ethereal Island once fed to level 15. Grumpyre is a single-element Ethereal Monster with the Shadow element.
